Instructions

  1. Season the chicken with kosher salt, garlic powder, ground black pepper, and paprika. Mix well. 
  2. Heat the large pot over medium heat, then add the extra-virgin olive oil and chicken. Sauté for 10 minutes, then transfer into a bowl. 
  3. Add the garlic, onion, mushrooms, celery, carrots, thyme, and rosemary to the pot and cook for 15 minutes. 
  4. Sprinkle in the all-purpose flour and cook for 2 minutes. Stir well. 
  5. Add the broth and evaporated milk, then stir to mix. 
  6. Take the pot off the heat, then stir in the wild rice and 1 cup of the shredded white cheddar. 
  7. Remove the crisper plate from the air fryer basket. 
  8. Coat basket lightly with oil spray. 
  9. Pour the mixture into the basket. 
  10. Select the Bake function at 20 minutes, adjust temperature to 325°F, then tap Start/Pause. 
  11. Remove basket when 5 minutes remain on the cook time. 
  12. Sprinkle on top the remaining cheese and panko breadcrumbs, then return the basket to the air fryer. 
  13. Remove when done and let stand for 15 minutes. Garnish with parsley, then serve. 

Chef Notes:You can make the mixture ahead of time and keep the topping separate to bake the next day.
