Instructions

MAKING THE STUFFING

  1. Place the crisper plate into the air fryer basket, then spread the sourdough cubes onto the crisper plate in a single layer. 
  2. Select the Air Fry function, adjust temperature to 350°F and time to 8 minutes, then tap Start/Pause
  3. Remove bread cubes when toasted and dried out, then transfer to a large bowl. 
  4. Heat the butter in a sauté pan over medium heat. Add the onion and a pinch of salt and cook for 10 minutes, stirring often until just slightly caramelized. 
  5. Add the olive oil, then add the celery, apple, carrots, parsley, sage, thyme, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes, then remove from heat. 
  6. Add the vegetable mixture to the bowl with the bread, then add the vegetable stock and half of the Parmesan cheese. Season to taste with salt and pepper, then stir in the beaten egg. 
  7. Remove the crisper plate from the basket. 
  8. Select the Preheat function and tap Start/Pause. 
  9. Spray the basket with olive oil spray, then add the stuffing. Top with the remaining Parmesan cheese. 
  10. Select the Air Fry function, adjust temperature to 320°F and time to 18 minutes, then tap Start/Pause
  11. Remove the stuffing when golden brown and done, then serve. 

Chef Notes: You can toast the sourdough bread cubes and prep all the other ingredients ahead of time for quick and easy assembly!
