Why are whole grains such an important part of the Mediterranean diet? Unlike refined grains, whole grains keep all three parts of the grain—the bran, germ, and endosperm—where most of the fiber, vitamins, and minerals are found. This bowl features bulgur, a budget-friendly whole grain that’s quick to prepare. Thanks to its nutrient content, bulgur has been linked to benefits like better gut health, a lower risk of chronic diseases, and support for healthy weight management.
