How to Pick Turkey Breast

When buying a turkey breast at the grocery store, they will often be frozen so make sure to fully defrost in the refrigerator one day before cooking. If your turkey breast is smaller or larger than 3 pounds, you may need to adjust the cook time accordingly. 

Ingredient Swaps

You can swap the herbs with your favorite fresh herbs. You can also use dried herbs, just use half the amount.

Instructions

PREPPING THE TURKEY BREAST

  1. Remove the turkey breast from the refrigerator at least 30 minutes prior to cooking and let come to room temperature. 
  2. Stir together the olive oil, rosemary, thyme, oregano, garlic, lemon zest, orange zest, and black pepper in a small bowl. Using your hands or a spoon, generously coat all sides of the turkey breast with the herb mixture. 
  3. Place the crisper plate into the air fryer basket. 

COOKING THE TURKEY BREAST

  1. Select the Preheat function, adjust temperature to 350°F, then tap Start/Pause
  2. Place the turkey breast onto the preheated crisper plate. 
  3. Select the Air Fry function, adjust temperature to 350°F and time to 50 minutes, then tap Start/Pause
  4. Flip turkey breast over halfway through cooking.  
  5. Remove the turkey breast when golden brown and fully cooked (the internal temperature should reach 160°–165°F), then place on a cutting board to rest for 10 to 15 minutes.   
  6. Slice against the grain and serve hot, or let cool to room temperature, refrigerate, and wrap tightly in plastic wrap for later use on sandwiches, etc. 

Chef Notes: Using a meat thermometer will help ensure your turkey breast is fully cooked. Allowing the turkey breast to rest for 10 to 15 minutes allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful turkey breast.
