Directions

STEP 1

Cook the turkey in a dry skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain and pat dry with paper towels to remove any excess fat.

STEP 2

Place the cooked turkey into a food processor or blender. Add the water and blend until smooth.

STEP 3

Add the sweet potato, molasses, and dried sage and blend until smooth.

STEP 4

Transfer the mixture to a large bowl, add the rolled oats, and mix well. The texture should be a dough-like consistency. Add more rolled oats if the mixture is too wet or runny.

STEP 5

Divide the mixture into roughly ½-tablespoon portions and place them evenly between the COSORI Food Dehydrator trays.

STEP 6

Press a blueberry onto the center of each treat.

STEP 7

Set temperature to 160°F and time to 4 hours, then press Start/Stop

STEP 8

Remove the treats when done and dried but not crispy. Cool completely, then serve to your pet.

STEP 9

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

STEP 14

Remove the empanadas when done and brush again lightly with the egg wash for shine while they are still very hot, then serve with the chimichurri on the side.
