Instructions

MAKING THE PASTIES

  1. Cut out 5 rounds from each pie crust sheet with the cookie cutter.
  2. Roll out the rounds gently once in each direction to help slightly flatten them.
  3. Brush half of the edge on each round with the beaten egg and fill the center with about 1 to 2 tablespoons of filling.
  4. Fold over and crimp shut with a fork. Cut two slits on top to allow ventilation.

COOKING THE PASTIES

  1. Whisk together the remaining egg with the melted unsalted butter.
  2. Place the crisper plate into the air fryer basket.
  3. Select Preheat function, adjust temperature to 450°F, then tap Start/Pause
  4. Place the parchment paper carefully onto the preheated crisper plate and lay in the pasties.  Brush the tops with the butter egg mixture.
  5. Select the Bake function, adjust temperature to 350°F and time to 12 minutes, then tap Start/Pause.
  6. Flip the pasties when there are 5 minutes of cooking left.
  7. Remove when done and let cool while you make the gravy.

MAKING THE GRAVY

  1. Melt the butter in a small saucepot and whisk in the all-purpose flour.
  2. Whisk in the pot roast liquid slowly and cook until slightly thickened then season with ground black pepper.
  3. Serve pasties with gravy and garnish with parsley.

Chef Notes: You can make these ahead of time! Freeze them and bake them off whenever you desire.
