Let's Spice it Up!

Love potato wedges? Give them a spicy makeover with this recipe! Seasoned, fluffy, and crispy potato wedges are the best sides to any burger and can stand on their own two feet as an appetizer.

How to Pick Potatoes

The best potatoes for wedges are russet potatoes. Picking a firm potato will ensure that the potato isn’t rotten.

Ingredient Swaps

You can use sweet potatoes or any root vegetables instead of potatoes.

Nutritional Information

Did you know a raw medium russet potato contains over 800 mg of potassium? This contributes significantly to the recommended daily intake for healthy adults. Potassium is an essential mineral present in all body tissues and is required for normal cell function.

PREPPING SUACE AND WEDGES

1. Heat a saucepan on medium heat and add in ¼ cup refined coconut oil and garlic. Once the garlic softens, add in the rest of the seasonings.
2. Cut the potatoes in half lengthwise then cut each half into quarters. You should end up with 16 potato wedges.
3. Place the potato wedges into a large bowl and cover with cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
4. Drain and rinse potatoes then pat dry with a kitchen towel or paper towel.
5. Coat the potato wedges with 2 tablespoons of melted coconut oil, then add in the cornstarch. Mix to combine.

BAKING WEDGES

1. Place the crisper plate into the air fryer basket.
2. Select the Preheat function and set temperature to 390°F.
3. Place the potatoes wedges onto the preheated crisper plate, cut side down.
4. Select the Air Fry function, set temperature to 390°F for 18 minutes, then tap Start/ Pause.
5. Flip the wedges halfway through cooking.
6. Remove when done and drizzle the garlic Cajun seasoning onto the fries. Toss to coat, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve immediately.

Chef Notes: Make sure not to walk away from the stove when the garlic is cooking in the pan. Garlic can burn quickly if not monitored.
