Flaky Caprese Pinwheels

Ingredients

3 tablespoons of tomato sauce  

+

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed 

+

2 tablespoons basil pesto 

+

1½ cups mozzarella, shredded 

+

½ teaspoon ground black pepper

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Directions

STEP 1

Spread the tomato sauce onto the top half of the puff pastry and basil pesto onto the bottom, leaving a ¼ inch of the edge bare. 

STEP 2

Spread the mozzarella on top of the tomato sauce on the puff pastry. 

STEP 3

Roll the puff pastry tightly starting from the top toward yourself until you get to the bottom. 

STEP 4

Halve the roll, then cut the halves into quarters. You should end up with 8 pinwheels. 

STEP 5

Select the Preheat function on the COSORI Air Fryer, adjust temperature to 370°F, then press Start/Pause.  

STEP 6

Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper. 

STEP 7

Place the pin wheels into the preheated air fryer, leaving ½-inch spaces between each pinwheel. 

STEP 8

Sprinkle the ground black pepper on top of the wheels. 

STEP 9

Set temperature to 370°F and time to 15 minutes, then press Start/Pause.  

STEP 10

Remove the pinwheels when done, then serve. 

STEP 13

 Remove the lasagna when done and garnish with basil, then serve.

STEP 14

Remove the empanadas when done and brush again lightly with the egg wash for shine while they are still very hot, then serve with the chimichurri on the side.
